Looking at the reviews on Costco.com, the quality seems iffy at best

This system has an additional 16GB ram and (edit) slightly faster processor than the lower-spec version: https://slickdeals.net/f/18410479-500-costco-acer-aspire-14-intel-core-ultra-5-226v-wuxga-1920-x-1200-touchscreen-display-16gb-ram-1tb-ssd
CPU comparison: https://www.notebookcheck.net/Cor...596.0.html
The 226v is often 2-8% slower, but is close enough to even win a few tests. It also is much more consistent in it's performance.

I physically checked the ultra 5 version of this, screen brightness is very dull. This ultra 7 has the same specs for screen, no no go for me

Does anyone who's got their finger on the pulse of laptop CPU's know why the ryzen 8840HS is SO good? like benchmark wise?
Are most of the numbers I'm seeing coming from mini PC's or something?

I bought the Ultra 5 version of this. So far it's been pretty fast and handles multiple tasks like a champ. If I buy this ultra 7 one, will I notice a difference in performance? I use the laptop on my monitors with lid closed.

Yup saw this in person, 300 nits is a joke

It's 2025 and all Windows laptops in the $600-1000 range come with pitifully backlit screens

Buy a better screen since that's 99% of a laptop

Even the worst Macbook, the Macbook Air has a screen that is miles ahead of this and is 500 nits

Hi, im also using it with external monitors, but have you found a way to turn it on without opening and closing the lid?

I usually just keep my laptop on all the time. Not sure if there is a way, one way I think could be if you use a docking station that has a power button and can probably turn on the laptop.
