this one broke down on me twice in 12 months they replaced both times with a "new one". although i really like its performance i just ended up buying an Oral B io3 , so far i'm giving OB the edge in cleaning and hopefully it will last a few years.

Very good brush. Replaced my 4100 with this one. The brush heads alone can go for $15-25. Also has the whitening feature.

I hate to do this to you all -- but have you considered using both?
an Oral-B with its oscillating cross action cleaning in the evening
AND
a Sonicare (in the 5xxx series or above) with its fluid pulses to rid what's left off the crevices of your teeth and gumline in the morning?
Best of both world, I say!

New versions of 4100 are crappy and after a 10 month of usage, power drops significantly less than half. I'm currently shopping for a new one, either this higher model or Oral B. 🤷🏻 ♂️

Thanks but are you familiar with the operation of both brushes if they differ much? My Googling suggested diamond clean was an older model and I don't care about the multiple intensity modes offered on the diamond handle

Don't get so stuck in the details. A tooth brush is a tooth brush. Brushing twice daily is far more important than semantics
