I recall a couple of years back threads like these would be filled up with SDers bragging they bought gift cards on 10 or more Amazon accounts and since then these promos have excluded Gift Card purchases and also restricted to very selected accounts. It was abused to the core.

I'm eligible but it says "the promotional code you entered cannot be applied to this purchase" even though it's shipped and sold by Amazon. Anyone have this issue too?

You might double check that you have Amex selected as the payment method before applying the code. I received the same message and then realized I didn't have Amex selected. When I changed the payment to that, it let me successfully apply the code. hth

Try removing your Amex card and then re-adding it. I was able to apply the code after doing this.
