I recall a couple of years back threads like these would be filled up with SDers bragging they bought gift cards on 10 or more Amazon accounts and since then these promos have excluded Gift Card purchases and also restricted to very selected accounts. It was abused to the core.

Not eligible. I don't keep any cards beyond my Amazon Visa on my account, but I'm always immediately rejected from these offers these days. It definitely feels like a blacklist situation. One account. I never return much and buy a lot.

Got the offer on my business account, but wasn't able to use it, even though the item I was trying to purchase was sold by Amazon. "The promotional code you entered cannot be applied to your purchase.", despite using the correct card for payment.

Finally managed to use it on some OPI nail polish for my wife. I still got the error, but the coupon applied.

I was able to link my amex card but my order got cancelled automatically by amazon right after placing an order due to "unusual ordering activity"

Is anyone actually ever eligible for these? I see this and Discover one and I'm never eligible. I don't have my cards linked to Amazon either.
