Probably some of the worst coffee I've ever tasted if you're a fan of Starbucks pikes placdor someone who associates bitterness with strong coffee(which is false) you'll probably like this but it's often over roasted and burnt.
I switched from pike place to this and enjoy it but I agree they are both bitter. What do you recommend I try?
Yes, but it's lavazza. In my experience it has less caffeine
Unlike this, most Lavazza coffee beans are a blend of Arabica and Robusta beans. Since Robusta contains twice as much caffeine as Arabica, nearly all Lavazza blends have a higher caffeine content than pure Arabica blends like this one.

Want smoother coffee I recommend Italian or Peruvian roast. If you want mild bitterness Cuban coffee, Dominican roast, or bustello. But never any Starbucks roast. Also I recommend learning pour over and temps based on your bean type. Also a small pinch of salt can help offset bitterness by a lot if you don't want to waste your current bean.

a 2 lb whole bean coffee is around $23 at a locally owned non-chain coffee shop in my area. you can tell how fresh it is too by how oily it is when you open the paper bag.
Seeing oil has nothing at all to do with freshness. You can check with AI but the oil is from dark roasts. AI says more oil shows for OLDER roasts as well. The only dry beans are fresh and light roast. There's also things like Quakers which are common in cheap coffee that's unripened beans.

Have, probably 20#'s in freezer, but have to stock up at $50 for 6 packs subscribe and save price.
With 15% SS price it is like $4 pound!
....
What?? I think you have math issues. $17.50 / 2.2 lb = $7.95 / lb. minus extra 15% = $4 / lb??? Just FYI, unless you're talking about something different than how I read it, no an extra 15% off 8.50 works out to around $6.76 / pound. (*Update: Probably more than that as the S&S 15% isn't extra, but instead of the included 5% S&S, I think.)

Holy Sh$t. Coffee prices have increased significantly lately. This is a pass.
Only if you don't plan on buying more coffee in the near future. I don't see prices coming down any time soon with the Tariff in Chief 'it's only a tax on foreign nations' in office.
