Or $38 for non-Prime. Been debating between this, or a wired G502 X (currently $55). The Basilisk seems to have more reviews about the middle-click failing, but the G502x's wheel is reportedly harder to click, and louder when scrolling.

Well this one (v3 basilisk) is comparable almost in all ways to the g502 wired - and they are both on sale for $35 right now from 70 msrp. The g502x one you're mentioning is a bit different and also like you said around $50.The g502 vs g502x basically comes down to the x not having rgb, weighing less, button differences, and different switches used internally. It had good intentions, but ended falling flat as a product. The g502 was more popular, more reliable, and better reviewed. That being said, the g502x is not worth the extra $20 over the currently on sale g502 or razer v3 basilisk. From there IMO its a choice that is personal of the two $35 ones.- Razer rgb is better and app for it easier. Wheel nicer. Better braided cord. Feels more sturdy and premium.- g502 more reliable. Buttons easier for smaller hands. Slightly lighter feeling.

Thanks for the rundown. I was looking for optical switches and optical wheel-encoder for longevity (going by this list [reddit.com]), hence comparing with the X version. Unfortunately, it seems nothing uses an optical switch for middle-click, so that can still fail (and apparently does for some people on the Basilisk).

Also annoyed that Logitech withheld RGB on all but the highest X model.
