4x 1.2v NiMH with a garbage charger? This might be on sale but it is in no way slick.

Amazon prime sales are …. Garbage. I would refrain from buying anything from Amazon for these couple of weeks.

Got this combo last time it popped up here. Batteries and charger work, but the batteries don't last a terribly long time and the charger is restricted to charging the batteries in pairs, so they can't be used all too effectively in odd-number applications. There are likely better options out there- I would not get these again, personally.

I bought this item on bestbuy and it takes forever to completely charge the batteries.

Got it from Meijer and opened and used it 6 months later...didn't even work at all. Seems that high 4.6 rating baloney. Can't trust these ratings anymore.

Quote from AllThingsTech2000 :
I thought Lithium batteries are better?

NI-MH AA and AAA batteries are better than lithium in most cases. Lithium batteries are 3.7V due to their inherent technology, but AA and AAA devices require 1.2V-1.5V. To get around this, lithium AA's have step-down circuitry in them to get to 1.5V, and that circuitry essentially drains the batteries even while they're not in use. On top of that, that circuitry generates quite a bit of EMI interference, so it causes problems in sensitive electronics, like medical devices. They're better in devices with heavy use that aren't sensitive. In every other case, Ni-MH is better.

That said, these Energizer batteries are most likely terrible Chinese batteries. Eneloop and IKEA Ladda batteries are the way to go.

Energizer NIMH has traditionally been garbage. But the Amazon listing has the COO as Japan. If that's true, wouldn't these be LSD NIMH? And is Energizer's rechargeable selection now a hodgepodge of sometimes good, sometimes bad?

The sooner people start to realize this the sooner we might actually start getting sales again. Resist the urge to buy on Prime day. Keep it in your 'saved for later.' After prime day watch as the prime price becomes the regular price and if you're lucky there will be an additional coupon making it even cheaper. Just happened to me. Saved $25 on one item.

I have these batteries. Wouldn't buy again. Brought it brand new and have charged the batteries 2x in the past 2 months. When popping them in my apple keyboard right off the charger (which is green - signaling they are done) and it says the batteries are no more than 50% charge. The cheap 48 pack of Kirkland batteries last longer and would save the headache of charging/swapping these every 4 weeks. The Kirkland batteries at least lasted 2-3 months before tossing. Such a disappointment.

I bought this a few months ago. This is the normal price. Not a deal.

Surprised on the negative feedback here, maybe more recent versions of this product are now poor quality? Got this in 2023 for Xbox controllers and the batteries last a long time. The set came with 4X2000mah batteries and charging time is 4-6 hours. Ended up getting 8 more Energizer 2000mah batteries so we always have some ready to go and they are all good.
