I own this. For those that do not know, let's be very clear about what this is and is not:

This is NOT an Impact. If a bolt doesn't turn easily, this won't start it. This has low toque.
If a bolt has thread-locker or is rusty, this MAY not work on it at all.
This is a power ratchet, even with the need to break them before (and finish them after), it is still a time saver over hand turning.

The 2457-20 does have variable speeds controlled via the trigger; the trigger feels great too by the way. One nice, albeit niche, thing is that's lowest speed is lower than the FUEL version, however its highest speed is also slower. Since this thing has low toque and can go VERY slow, it won't rip plastic, allowing me to use it on e.g. Lifetime furniture. But do so at your own risk and feather the trigger.

I think this is worth owning at $64 but set your expectations. This is just good at the "middle part" of tightening/loosening a bolt; the ends will always require a manual ratchet or impact.

This model still has a smaller ratchet head then the 2nd version of the Fuel ratchet. They entire reason they made a 2nd Fuel ratchet is because the 1st version had a ratchet head too large to fit in tight spots.

I know people who have all 3 versions in their toolboxes and the original one gets used the most except for the long neck fuel ratchet. That one is the ultimate get into tight places electric ratchet.

Milwaukee made the two Fuel versions because they wanted to make the ratchet head last longer than the original. They just could not make as small as the original.

Brushed, non-Fuel, but cheap.

Electric ratchets aren't made for torquing by the motor. They're made to extract nuts and bolts in hard to reach areas. You know how you loosen a tightened fastener when using one of these? With elbow grease. Once loosened, you use the electric function. It takes an additional 5 seconds and saves a ton of weight, cost, and size on the tool, which can be invaluable.

I don't think people understand the concept of these tools. I'm not paying $200 for something I have hand tools for unless I'm a professional mechanic. However, paying $64 for something that will shave off 20-30 minutes and a ton of frustration while working on my car makes complete sense.

Got it along with a free tshirt using summer code SUMMER.. I already have the FUEL version of this tool but this will be a nice one to keep around the garage as well and to bring along with the motorhome.

This model is the old slow goat. Hard pass. Get the fuel model for stronger, faster revolutions & brushless tech for assembling weight racks/benches & working on car.

I have this rachet, despite not being the Fuel model, it's good for what it gets used for. I bought mine years ago via a Home Depot deal with a bag, 4ah battery and charger.

I have been wanting to get one of these types of cordless ratchets for a long time. I am not a professional mechanic but I do work on my cars, jetski and power equipment. I don't have any M12 batteries yet. Any recommendations for a batteries and a charger for this? I have all Dewalt and Ryobi power tools as of now.

The non-Fuel was better than the Fuel version according to Project Farm

I've owned this version for three or four years and it is one of my most used tools. It's plenty strong enough to loosen your standard 10-12mm sized bolts. It's small enough to get into some tight spots. It is especially great at things like removing timing cover bolts or valve cover bolts. It's not impact but I think it goes to about 30ft-lbs which is again plenty for those 10-12mm class of bolts. It also has a small light on it which helps in tight spaces. Highly recommended!

I do put mine on small bolts and break them loose. No issues. I would not use this to try to break loose lugs or engine mounts or exhaust bolts. I have the stubby or mid torque Milwaukee for those. Last thing I used it for was the 10 or so transmission pan bolts on a Subaru. I use it nearly every time I work on the car. It's been reliable and works great with just the small battery. I also got mine with a couple of batteries and a bag from Home Depot and paid almost $200. I chose NOT to get the Fuel version of this tool due to this one being able to get into smaller spaces on the car and it has never let me down.

I was looking for a ratchet to wrench on my car. I was considering buying the Hyper Tough brand from Walmart. How much is a battery and charge for the Milwaukee?
