I own this. For those that do not know, let's be very clear about what this is and is not:

This is NOT an Impact. If a bolt doesn't turn easily, this won't start it. This has low toque.
If a bolt has thread-locker or is rusty, this MAY not work on it at all.
This is a power ratchet, even with the need to break them before (and finish them after), it is still a time saver over hand turning.

The 2457-20 does have variable speeds controlled via the trigger; the trigger feels great too by the way. One nice, albeit niche, thing is that's lowest speed is lower than the FUEL version, however its highest speed is also slower. Since this thing has low toque and can go VERY slow, it won't rip plastic, allowing me to use it on e.g. Lifetime furniture. But do so at your own risk and feather the trigger.

I think this is worth owning at $64 but set your expectations. This is just good at the "middle part" of tightening/loosening a bolt; the ends will always require a manual ratchet or impact.

This model still has a smaller ratchet head then the 2nd version of the Fuel ratchet. They entire reason they made a 2nd Fuel ratchet is because the 1st version had a ratchet head too large to fit in tight spots.

I know people who have all 3 versions in their toolboxes and the original one gets used the most except for the long neck fuel ratchet. That one is the ultimate get into tight places electric ratchet.

Milwaukee made the two Fuel versions because they wanted to make the ratchet head last longer than the original. They just could not make as small as the original.

I have this model and it works perfectly fine for wrenching on my car or around the house. Bolts that need actual torque I just used my mid torque m18. This is a good tool at a good price for general things you would actually use a ratchet for.

Similar price ($65) at Wal-Mart, for those who prefer that merchant: https://www.walmart.com/ip/Milwau.../162223817

I could be mistaken, but I believe this does not have variable speeds and is a woot/walmart listing error.

Looks like it does have variable speeds up to 250rpm with the variable trigger control per Milwaukee's specs. https://www.milwaukeetool.com/Products/2457

This model is the old slow goat. Hard pass. Get the fuel model for stronger, faster revolutions & brushless tech for assembling weight racks/benches & working on car.

This works fine for all of that , this isn't made for high torque situations , those should be broke loose beforehand

Yeah, this is the one that MANY old wood workers still prefer for certain kinds of work and is more controllable for cuts.

Horrible piece of equipment makes you wonder why it bothered to get up in them morning... (sarcasm alert)

You can purchase the 3/8 version and just swap out the head to a 1/4. They are like $20Unlike the fuel version, the 3/8 and 1/4 are identical in size. I did this as I buy a lot of Milwaukee stuff on promo deals. I have the 1/4 and 3/8 fuel as well as 1/4 and 3/8 non fuel. I wrench for a living and I rarely touch the fuel versions.

Agreed. Couldn't have said it better myself. I bought one of these two years ago ... and used it once. It is OK for removing nuts/fasteners that are loose, or are near-loose. This tool will save you a few seconds removing a fastener over using a manual ratchet ... that is about it.
