If you've got a Chase card, check your Chase Offers for a Dollar General offer of 10% back on a single purchase that maxes out when spending $50.
Sadly, many Dollar Generals, area-dependent, only accept cash and refuse card when buying gift cards.

same here (at multiple locations). Probably a corporate rule but some locations might be lax and let you use debit.

In my experience, it varies by store due to fraud. I have three stores in my town and all of them let me use debit/credit to buy gift cards but the ones I've been to in larger cities require cash. The reason I was given when I asked was that it was a problem with elderly/non-internet savvy people unknowingly buying gift cards for scammers and losing thousands of dollars.

Looks pretty likely that it's $15; visiting the Zaxby's website to buy a gift card directly shows that their gift card loads range from $15 to $100.
