Boost offers "blue truck" delivery as their premier and cheapest option. You CANNOT tip "blue truck" Kroger delivery drivers. These are proper Kroger employees -- not gig workers. If you only have instacart in your area (or you choose to use it for timing reasons), then you are subject to instacart rules, somewhat sketchier delivery (because it is an instacart employee, not a Kroger employee, who is picking), and you might be able to tip. FWIW, I LOVE Boost. Blue truck delivery has been nearly flawless for our deliveries, and we've had literally hundreds of them (really!). Join now and you should qualify for the mid-July Boost Bonus days (like prime days) where some silly cheap deals will happen. At half off, this is a no-brainer if you normally shop at Kroger.

To clarify for people:

Boost Essential is $69 / year ($34.50 with promo) and includes free next-day delivery from Kroger trucks and Kroger employees. Tipping is not allowed. Includes 6 months streaming.

Boost is $99 / year ($49.50 with promo) and includes free same-day delivery through Instacart drivers. Tipping is encouraged. Includes streaming for the full year.

You may only have the option of one of the two plans depending on your location.

You can extend your membership when they have these 50% off promos. Mine currently goes through 2028 because I added multiple years at the $34 price.

The Essential plan is great. No tipping, can schedule delivery early mornings, easy refunds if anything is wrong.

Stop doing that. You're just making tip culture worse.

For anyone having trouble signing up:

I spent a TON of time trying to figure this out yesterday and I've built websites for a living for almost 10 years.

https://www.picknsave.com/members...pfreetrial

When you go there, choose the plan, then hit enroll now. It does not show the discount price until you click enroll now.
THEN it will show the discount after you're signed in.

Do all Kroger's offer delivery by Kroger? When I try and setup grocery delivery from Kroger near me (WITHOUT a boost membership,) the only options I have are Instacart delivery. I don't want to tip on every grocery delivery (and is the reason I haven't signed up for Boost.)

EDIT: The answer is no. I'll be passing on Boost until my area offers Kroger delivery.

In Florida publix has turned into an absolute monopoly with terrible prices, quality and service. I despise this company but have no other choice except walmart save a lot or driving out to Aldi (which is my best option tbh). I've started using kroger and their blue trucks, they're amazing! Great prices and products. Even if it's comparable to publix prices i prefer to give my money to Kroger.
it is the exact opposite here in Colorado. King Soopers/Krogers is an absolute shit show. They used to be great but since Covid, their quality sucks on produce and meat, their prices went up so so much and got caught lying about it, purposely keeping staffing low, and just overall really shitty service. A lot of items on the shelf are at or near expiration so you have to check everything, and all of their "deals" are now digital coupons which means doing your due diligence before going to the store. Whereas, I can go to walmart if in a pinch and their prices are way cheaper with the same quality and not having to deal with digital coupons or anything like that. I avoid Kroger unless absolutely necessary and they are about a block from my subdivision. Walmart, Sprouts, and Natural Grocers are all a few miles away but so much better experiences.

In AZ, using Fry's versions of Kroger, they use instacart, not Kroger delivery. The delivery is free but you have to tip. Wish I knew before I bought, not worth it for me.
Yeah, I just found this out for Ralph's as well.

The only option for me is Instacart and there's a tip that I need to include to not piss off the driver.

I wish I would've known that only Kroger has the blue trucks that the people were talking about higher up the thread, my cheap boost membership is now much more expensive
