Boost offers "blue truck" delivery as their premier and cheapest option. You CANNOT tip "blue truck" Kroger delivery drivers. These are proper Kroger employees -- not gig workers. If you only have instacart in your area (or you choose to use it for timing reasons), then you are subject to instacart rules, somewhat sketchier delivery (because it is an instacart employee, not a Kroger employee, who is picking), and you might be able to tip. FWIW, I LOVE Boost. Blue truck delivery has been nearly flawless for our deliveries, and we've had literally hundreds of them (really!). Join now and you should qualify for the mid-July Boost Bonus days (like prime days) where some silly cheap deals will happen. At half off, this is a no-brainer if you normally shop at Kroger.

To clarify for people:

Boost Essential is $69 / year ($34.50 with promo) and includes free next-day delivery from Kroger trucks and Kroger employees. Tipping is not allowed. Includes 6 months streaming.

Boost is $99 / year ($49.50 with promo) and includes free same-day delivery through Instacart drivers. Tipping is encouraged. Includes streaming for the full year.

You may only have the option of one of the two plans depending on your location.

You can extend your membership when they have these 50% off promos. Mine currently goes through 2028 because I added multiple years at the $34 price.

The Essential plan is great. No tipping, can schedule delivery early mornings, easy refunds if anything is wrong.

Stop doing that. You're just making tip culture worse.

Boost has been one of the best things ever considering I was always a Kroger shopper where I live. With boost 2x fuel points and 4x fuel points on Fridays, I usually get 2000 plus points a month. Having a pickup truck that equates to about 56$ in fuel savings every month.

Does Kroger Boost work for all their stores like Smith's and Ralph's or only Kroger branded stores?
Works for Ralphs: https://www.ralphs.com/pr/boost/bonus-days

Ya especially shopping weekends you can really save on gas. 4x points adds up fast.

I just dont like this stupid tipping culture. Why do they expect tip? If you want money, go ask your employer.

No. If they're spending 20 minutes picking up groceries for me and there's no fee for store pickup, I'm going to at least tip them $2. They're not required to take it, but they saved me 20+ minutes of my time. I do agree though that tipping in the US is waaayyy out of control.
This is why we need to get ride of delivery services and have these guys be regular employees because I wouldn't have to tip a regular employee who doesn't had any over head the car would be owned by a company and they will get paid hourly if they don't like the rate don't take the job it's just that simple everything has become so expensive since we started this gig worker BS.

I don't know if it's worth it for me or not. I don't drive, so the fuel points would only help someone ese. i live less than a 10 minute walk from kroger so don't really need delivery often, if ever. I am paying $3/mo for hulu and disney plus.

SO only way being worth it would be if the exclusive offers are food enough, but so far all I see it really showing is free 6 glazed donuts and even the offers it says will be there for bonus days are really trivial like $5 off if you spend on cleaning supplies.

A lot of people say I should tio if I go to the trouble to go pick up an order at a restaurant or pizza place... I don[t ever tip in those situations. There's no point to me picking it up if I am tipping them.

If you've got a Kroger Mastercard (which is also good because it gives you 5% cashback anywhere you use tap to pay from your phone up to $3000 each year), then Boost Essential is included for free... they word it weirdly and it sounds like it is just for the "first year" but they automatically renew it for free as long as you've got the card: https://www.kroger.com/pr/credit-boost-promo

In Florida publix has turned into an absolute monopoly with terrible prices, quality and service. I despise this company but have no other choice except walmart save a lot or driving out to Aldi (which is my best option tbh). I've started using kroger and their blue trucks, they're amazing! Great prices and products. Even if it's comparable to publix prices i prefer to give my money to Kroger.
Here in TN everyone keeps whining abo9ut kroger and saying publix would be much better. lol.

Where it says 5% back when using mobile wallet is it talking about apple pay or you have to sue some kroger wallet? would I be able to get 5% back places other than kroger or only kroger, for instance?

I was tempted to get a new credit card that was offering a $300 credit, but maybe the $100 kroger one would be worth doing.

I switched from W+ to Safeway delivery for same fee. W+ fresh produce kinda sucked. Safeway uses warehouse trucks and easy returns.. But I don't even know if Kroger delivers here Fred Meyer is 4mi away.

Thanks OP I got boost when I got the card, 3% back on all mobile pay, I use PayPal and Google pay with their MC. I think I got basic, gonna try to upgrade. I use pickup but since there is no tipping I'm gonna start delivery. Thanks.

Added a year with coupon. Perfect timing as I signed up for the essentials plan this time last year.

I tried to go in again and purchase another year's worth but seems like the coupon is a one-time use. I'll try again in a week to see if the coupon "refreshes".
