Boost offers "blue truck" delivery as their premier and cheapest option. You CANNOT tip "blue truck" Kroger delivery drivers. These are proper Kroger employees -- not gig workers. If you only have instacart in your area (or you choose to use it for timing reasons), then you are subject to instacart rules, somewhat sketchier delivery (because it is an instacart employee, not a Kroger employee, who is picking), and you might be able to tip. FWIW, I LOVE Boost. Blue truck delivery has been nearly flawless for our deliveries, and we've had literally hundreds of them (really!). Join now and you should qualify for the mid-July Boost Bonus days (like prime days) where some silly cheap deals will happen. At half off, this is a no-brainer if you normally shop at Kroger.

To clarify for people:

Boost Essential is $69 / year ($34.50 with promo) and includes free next-day delivery from Kroger trucks and Kroger employees. Tipping is not allowed. Includes 6 months streaming.

Boost is $99 / year ($49.50 with promo) and includes free same-day delivery through Instacart drivers. Tipping is encouraged. Includes streaming for the full year.

You may only have the option of one of the two plans depending on your location.

You can extend your membership when they have these 50% off promos. Mine currently goes through 2028 because I added multiple years at the $34 price.

The Essential plan is great. No tipping, can schedule delivery early mornings, easy refunds if anything is wrong.

Stop doing that. You're just making tip culture worse.

Where it says 5% back when using mobile wallet is it talking about apple pay or you have to sue some kroger wallet? would I be able to get 5% back places other than kroger or only kroger, for instance?

I was tempted to get a new credit card that was offering a $300 credit, but maybe the $100 kroger one would be worth doing.
If you don't have or don't shop at Kroger often, just get the Blue Amex. You can swipe, not just limited to mobile app usage, 6% CB at ANY supermarkets with $6000 limit + more saving opps with Amex Offer. PM me for referral sign up if you find this useful.

ESPN+ does not have everything that is on the ESPN cable channel. Or at least a few years ago that was the way it was. This was very disappointing for me to learn as I thought I could get ESPN streaming without paying the channel aggregator overlords.Edit: and I got ESPN+ so I could stream the football games they had on the cable channel. Nope, nada.
ESPN+ is really only decent if you like their shows like 30 for 30. There are a limited selection of talk shows and most of the live shows are with their B-talent. ESPN is going to have a standalone service sometime this year, but it looks like it's going to be pricey.

And you're the reason why.
Tipping someone that is paid a living wage does not contribute to the problem. Using a company that underpays their employees and relies on customer's having to tip, does contribute to the problem.

How do we know if boost workers are Kroger employees or subcontractors/gigs?

yes it does. once enough people start doing that the company will want to maximize profits and turn that job in to a "tip" based job.

My .02 this is great for $50 as long as you can use the Kroger delivery service without tipping. Tipping would kill it. This saves me a ton of time and hassle.

My area I can usually schedule no-charge Kroger delivery the following day, which is what I do 99% of the time. Same day Kroger delivery carries a small fee of ~$7. Same as others have said YMMV on produce but anything on the shelf has been fine for me.

There are other delivery options but they are tipped. Do a couple checks and make sure the Kroger delivery option works for you.

Bummer. I have the Harris Teeter version of the Kroger card and it looks like that's the only one without the Boost Essential benefit.

That said, seems like at $50/year, the Boost plan is a no-brainer for anyone that wants to sub to ESPN+ (and who isn't already getting it via a Hulu bundle or some other "coupon book" benefit). Even if you don't actually shop at Kroger, you're getting ESPN+ for less than half of what it normally costs ($110/year).

If I pay for the Boost Membership, can I choose to have the groceries delivered next day so the Kroger employee delivers? Or would I be forced to use Instacart delivery every time with a Boost membership?

D'oh! Thanks. Didn't realize that was the same program, just with a different name.

That said, when trying to redeem the free membership the checkout page is pretty ambiguous. It's showing the full $69 price, but I'm not clear whether or not that's the renewal price (i.e. what it will charge a year from now). Can anyone who has redeemed the Kroger Mastercard offer confirm whether this is what their checkout screen looked like?

EDIT: Nevermind. I used a different browser and started the process over and then it showed $0 on the checkout screen.

What metro area is this?
I am in an Albuquerque suburb. No Kroger delivery here at all.

No. If they're spending 20 minutes picking up groceries for me and there's no fee for store pickup, I'm going to at least tip them $2. They're not required to take it, but they saved me 20+ minutes of my time. I do agree though that tipping in the US is waaayyy out of control.
Matt Walsh just did a YT video about tipping....more and more places, especially with tablet checkout, hound you for a tip even though no service was provided.
