honest question - don't the 250g rolls lead to tons of "what am i going to do with this almost empty roll of fancy filament" situation often?

Yes but you don't have to be paralyzed by that thought. Except that the high remains is all the reason make sure you get it on sale. Acknowledge the upside as you get to try several different filaments without getting overly committed. So it's good to do if you're using colors are not sure if you'll like or not. Keep in mind if you don't have much filament left you could always print a smaller object. If you wish you can always do HueForge prints using the experimental collar with the leftover.Just a few ideas
