Reviews talk about this sander being unbalanced. They released a new M12 model that has great reviews.

Will wait for the Fuel version to go on sale, as I have plenty of batteries. Have a corded sander to get by with in the meantime

I've had this sander for about 8 months and after a handful of uses I can say that this is for VERY light sanding only (IE roughing up a surface to prep for painting). If you're expecting to blast off coats of poly or get down to bare wood to refinish furniture like you would with a wired belt sander, I don't recommend this as it just doesn't have the power and will take forever to the point you might consider just sanding by hand.

It does seem to have a decent build quality, though. So just be aware that this, IMO, is only good for light surface sanding and is not the right tool for fully refinishing furniture that already has finish or stain on it.

I was about to make the purchase. Then I went online and ... THERE'S A NEW VERSION OF THE TOOL! Don't purchase it. Nobody likes this tool and Milwaukee redesigned it with a way better version of the tool. See the new tool and a comparison of what you would be getting... https://youtu.be/WOqg9WZpt_o?si=pKsDuko-kz2vK0xC

M12 version is over $300 for tool only. New M18 version is $300 w/ battery. My corded sander just died, and I only need to sand poplar boards for window casement and jambs. I wonder if this will do the job, or if I should just grab the corded Bosch for $60? The extra batteries would be nice.....

It's horrible. Everyday I look at it I feel the same intense regret you'd feel if you shipped something via USPS and it was lost

I have the corded Bosch. It's a winner, if you can manage the cord. Since I use my shop vac while sanding for dust extraction, the cord doesn't bother me. I'm already tied to the work area by the hose.

Is this still worth the $ for the batteries and charger? I've wanted a 2ah battery for the Milwaukee palm router (for small projects) and can use the other battery and charger. I have a Dewalt corded orbital sander I've been very happy with, but figured this sander could be useful for projects here and there around the house, or when working on a ladder.
I'm pretty new to the Milwaukee line, thus the question.

It may be user error, but it's impossible to control this sander when sanding. The "random" orbiting motions makes it weave all over the place.
Worst purchase from the Milwaukee set since the 8.0 batteries.
I have corded ones and have used pneumatic ones without issue, but this thing is terrible.
