I can't speak to this expansion, but the base game is one of the better games at higher player counts. It's a hidden role game, but even if the monster is discovered, they can still win.

That's "the thing" you need a high player count to really make the game work. I can't even get four people together and everyone's eyes are glued to their cellphones. It was easy back in 1990!

I'm with you. I almost bought this because I like the base game, then I remembered that I'm lucky if this gets to the table three times in a year. I unfortunately feel that I've become more of a board game collector than board game player. And now I'm sad.

That's what I am 100%. I remember back in the day when you would get your friends together and it wasn't a big deal to spend a few hours every now and then. These days you're lucky to keep someone's attention for 20 minutes. I have a pile that have never been played. I just like the idea of them and the art. I even bought some vintage kids games like Superstition etc.
