Costco online has this garbage disposer heavily discounted. I just bought one for my house because the old badger completely rusted out. The grinding chamber is all stainless steel and it comes with 12 year manufacturer warranty. Similar stuff would cost twice as much.

I have one of these, the install was decent, but I sort of feel like the gasket doesn't allow enough water down into the disposal quickly enough.

I installed one this past weekend and it was pretty straightforward except I had to redo the piping because it was funky and weird - one part was a flex elbow which traps crud and I think is also not to code. I re-did it all with a center-waste tee and all smooth-walled pipe so it should be good (I may need to cut one section down a bit more to facilite better drainage).

As far as the gasket, I am not noticing that - are you sure it's not because of a potential build-up of gunk in your downstream pipes? If I pour a ton of water in at once (from a large pot), it does back up but it drains normally and not any slower than the previous setup we had. Other than that, if I run the water, it drains fine and doesn't back up. If anything, the gasket maybe traps more food than I'd like.

If I recall it correctly then after the install I had to get the gasket reinstalled since original was leaking after a few days. Probably not an expensive item but worth considering when installing.

yes the opening is a bit smaller than insinkerator and wasteking, one improvement would be getting drain guard insert that's deep amd pushes them open more or slightly cut it bit more open. with time it should loosen up a bit as well.

I replaced my broken insinkerator with one of these last year and love it. I bought one for my new house I still haven't opened just because I was afraid it would go away (it disappeared from costcos site for a few months). Looks like I wasted $30 (paid $99), oh well
