Amazfit makes fantastic wearables for people who aren't hardcore athletes and just want to track performance improvements/sleep reliably.

I switched back from Samsung to my Amazfit Neo (best battery life and actually small watch-sized), but the Bip line is great for people who want more functionality on-wrist.

At this price I'm tempted to get one as a gift

A price sufficient to operate only with a watch.

It was showing out of stock when I put the watch in the cart while adding other items for free shipping. So I went back to the main product page where it was still in stock...added two to the cart and ordered it...let see ship and sold by Walmart so easy returns.

My previous order on Amazon for a similar watch has been pending since June 25 (mostly because the seller won't ship for the lower price of $14 after offering a deep discount...no charge on credit card so I am okay if they don't ship).

I'm fine with simple watch for 14 days battery life (google pixel 2 watch give me 1 day battery life...sucks)

I have been using Amazfit, and prior tto that Xiaomi bands, for many years now. I went into the Fitbit ecosystem for a bit but have since come back to Amazfit with the T-Rex series. I was so tempted to get the T-Rex 3 last week when the price was $170, but my T-Rex 2 is still going strong and I refrained from buying.

I have been putting this on every Garmin thread with watches that cost $700 as sale price for those people to try Amazfit T-Rex 2 or 3. I am sure they will never look at another Garmin again.

FYI, this is ***old***. The Bip 6 is the current version.

That being said, I am a big Amazfit fan. Great watched at bargain prices.

I picked up the original T-Rex for backpacking years ago. Super impressed with the ruggedness and battery life. My partner is an OT and got the Active (square) with an always on display so she can glance at it to quietly track time during sessions.

I now have a Garmin 255 for running but I got so pissed at the 2 day battery life I picked up the Bip 6 (for ~ $65) just to have an everyday watch that I didn't have to constantly charge. I'm not sure that the Garmin is any more accurate GPS-wise and I think maybe the newer Balance 2 (which *is* expensive for Amazfit, but cheap vs Garmin) might have done everything I wanted.

That all being said, the Bip 6 is big - fine for me but I don't think it would fit on my partner's wrist.

Got one of these on a deal in summer last year. Tracks steps, workouts, app notifications well enough and the battery life is LONG. Do get rid of the silicone band ASAP though, those things trap sweat and irritate the skin aggressively.

Does this Amazfit have the always on display like the Bip S? Or is it one of the raise to view screens? Not seeing it mentioned besides the HD display.

Is the heart rate monitoring accurate on this watch?
when I check mine with the treadmill monitor, it is usually reasonably accurate, but not always. It could be me, I don't care enough to try to verify all the settings.

YMMV. I went with the first Bip when I believe it was a kickstarter. I had nothing but problems with it. It would disconnect constantly requiring resets. The range was poor, and the steps counting was very inaccurate. However, that was the first version and hopefully this version is much better. Regardless, I switched to Garmin Vivoactive 3 then 4 and now 5. It doesn't come close to costing $700 - mine was $179 and worth every penny. I realize it is comparing apples and oranges, but the Vivoactives have been solid for me and at a low cost.

Oh ok thanks. My Bip S screen came off and I liked the always on eInk type displays. Will probably opt for the Pebbles when they get re-released.

I have not had any problems with Amazfit watches through the years.

And the T-Rex series is more in line with the highest Fenix and Epic series of Garmin. People shell out $700 plus and the cost of those watches is $ 1k plus, which IMO is ridiculous. Think of it - a piece of tech on hand which will be obsolete in a year or 2 costs $ 1200 at retail. Wearable HR, step counter, altimeter, etc tech has been around for about 15 years now and the cost of these watches and devices instead of going down are on the way up with no revolutionary evolution overall.

I switched from the latest Apple Watch to it. Received AW as a gift and HATED the battery life. To be honest, I never used anything other than check time, see who is ringing and check the notification popped up. So, if you're saving for AW but really have no idea why you need it and which options are desired - buy this one instead.
