That is weird, I would not have expected that. 1u = 1.75 inches, 3U=5.25 inches their picture shows 5.63 height on just the case. You really want rack mount equipment to be a whole number of "units". Even if you want an air gap i would think it would make sense to have 4u ears rather than make it 3u+. Looking at the picture it seems like the ears are laid out as 3u but the case is taller.

Standard Vertical Hole Spacing (EIA-310 spec):

Each 1U (1.75") vertical unit has three holes arranged in a repeating pattern:
1st to 2nd hole: 0.625 inches (15.875 mm)
2nd to 3rd hole: 0.625 inches (15.875 mm)
3rd hole to 1st hole of next U: 0.5 inches (12.7 mm)

Thanks for the heads up

No kidding, I looked them up in the Intertek ETL directory and sure enough they have a UL1973 mark. Props to Eco-Worthy!

That's good! But still won't count as a house battery (UL9540) anywhere that NEC2020+ is adopted. Although it depends on how much your AHJ cares...

My understanding is that is incoming as well. Just in time before credits expire.

It's all relative. There are some models 2-3x this size that weigh 200-300lbs.

How are this type of batteries used? Is it only for a solar-no-battery installed house?

It is for energy storage that you will need to hook up to an inverter. The inverter can be tied only to the grid or with solar to charge the batteries.

It can be used for your solar-no battery setup too, but you should wait for the UL approval first, then your inspection should have no problem.

Note, this battery is only for in-door.

They have a 50 amp hour version, which should be about half the weight
