Yes I replaced my two bulky and tippy CFL tripod lights with these. Use them with a lightbox and without and they get plenty of light out.

These are better suited for video, but still plenty of good photo uses to them. I use them for creative photography (buy multiple, set them to different color temperatures to light a scene.. whether it's white light or using colored lighting to get a specific look). Good for both product photography, general lighting and for photoshoots with a model.

Keep in mind these are very small lights and not comparable to an actual flash.. but if you need a kicker light, fill or just some pops of color they work great.

I bought about 5 different brands.. All of these lights look the same, but the big difference is in the controls. If you can find one with an app control or with turn dials opposed to digital buttons, it's a much nicer overall experience.

I see a minor down side about such light is - "Avoid using the light while charging to protect battery life"

This seems like one of the few cases where it might be worth paying more to get the app control (for synchronization and such).

Fine lights but the prices are jacked up. Previously got the RGB61 (this one) for $11.19 and RGB62 (app control) for $21.59

Would you happen to have any light recommendations for photos?

Not OP but check this video. This guy makes a lot of video comparisons and he is not being paid receiving free products so I think his opinion is unbiased.
