Acer Aspire 14" Intel 5 226V, WUXGA, Touchscreen, 16GB / 1TB SSD - USB-C - 2YR Warranty

The laptop is available in warehouse at same price, but you can get it shipped for $14.99

I just picked this up because I really needed a spare laptop and specs looked decent, especially the resolution.

I can't tell of RAM is upgradeable.

Aspire is acer lower to mid level line. Don't expect great build quality.

Latest Intel 200s have ram integrated with the CPU so they are not ram upgradable.

Confirmation for this laptop from notebookcheck. They take internal shots in their reviews.

Thanks for the link, I bought it anyway because I didn't find too many models at this price range with 1TB SSD and 2yrs warranty with WUXGA screen, but if there is that much light bleeding it could be annoying. As for build quality, I agree it's a bit plastic-y however it's super light and perfect to toss around, definitely much lighter than my T14 and even T14s but even they are going down in quality lately.

I wanted to figure out the processor since Intel numbering is all over the place lately. It looks like this processor is just mediocre, nothing special according to reviews focusing on efficiency rather than performance.

Quote :
Lunar Lake Architecture: This new architecture focuses on improved power efficiency and integrated graphics performance.
Good for Everyday Tasks:
The 226V handles everyday tasks like web browsing, document editing, and streaming video with ease, according to Notebookcheck.
Light to Medium Gaming:
The Arc 130V iGPU allows for playing many modern games at low to medium settings.
Power Efficient:
The low TDP (17W) contributes to long battery life.
Not the Fastest:
It's one of the slower Lunar Lake processors, but still offers a good performance boost over previous generations.
Faster than Intel Core i7-1355U:
The 226V is faster in both single-core and multi-core performance compared to the i7-1355U, according to Passmark CPU Benchmarks.
Slower than some Apple M-series chips:
According to CPU Benchmarks, the 226V is slower than the Apple M4 10-core in both single-core and multi-core performance.
So now I am not sure, do I keep it or return it? I didn't open it, and I see there are refurb deals with better specs but I was never lucky with refurbs and will not gamble with those lease-end devices, rather pay $500 range for something that can last a while than try to get 2nd hand laptop.

I got the chromebook+ version of this which is supposedly MIL drop spec, but set up is exactly like it except for the windows dedicated keyboard etc, the chromebook feels more high end than this
