The Samsung Galaxy S22 series will receive four years of major Android OS updates and five years of security updates. This means the S22 will be supported through at least Android 16 and will receive security patches until the end of 2027

After you buy this phone, chat with Samsung and say you want to return. They'll offer a 10% refund.

You didn't get impacted by their software update the significantly degrades battery life?

Summary of program

Google has determined that certain Pixel 6a phones ("Impacted Devices") require a mandatory software update to reduce the risk of potential battery overheating which could pose a risk to users. The update will enable important battery management features that will reduce battery capacity and charging performance on Impacted Devices after the battery reaches 400 charge cycles.
All Pixel 6a devices will receive a mandatory automatic software update to Android 16, with roll out starting July 8 2025, but only Impacted Devices will receive the battery management features. Some users will see changes sooner than others, because the battery management features activate only after an Impacted Device reaches 400 charge cycles.
We want our customers to have the best possible experience with their products, so users of these Impacted Devices are eligible for support options from Google based upon country of purchase, location, and warranty status, subject to our terms and conditions below. Not all Pixel 6a devices are impacted by the reduction in battery capacity and charging performance. If your device is not impacted, your battery management features will remain the same as before, and you will not be eligible for these support options under this program.

I think people are discounting the value of a phone being fully certified refurbished by samsung. Brand new battery, guaranteed authentic samsung parts, and a warranty from Samsung. Which I should also mention means if you used a good credit card, you get an additional year of warranty on since this is certified refurbished. Can't get that kind of reliability from your ebay purchases.

Not sure if this is a good deal. For S22 Ultra I got open box (acceptable) but actually brand new 512GB from Amazon by Jun 2023 for $656.1 and after tax $718.43. Here 2 yrs later 256GB is $549 after trade in?
I've got over 2TB of space on my LG Velvet 5G phone. think i'll hold on to it a bit longer. nothing really enticing here.

would anyone have any advice on what to do with an old galaxy z flip? stupid thing. t mobile wouldnt help me out and i should have reached out to samsung, but the year was over and i was stuck with it.

it's a paperweight in my nightstand.

it won't open and that damaged the screen and so it powers up but screen is broke and still stuck halfway shut.

was hoping to be able to trade it in one day. but haven't seen anywhere like this where i could with a damaged one.

I bought a "new in box" old stock S20 ultra last year from ebay. Have really loved it, and love the fact I can still use an mini SD card for storage. However lately the battery has started to not last as long and also a lot of my photos come out blurry in sections of the photo (upper left, lower right, etc). Was looking to possibly trade it for a newer phone, but these prices after trade seem just decent.

Am I better off going for a "free" phone from T mobile (which would probably be S24 or even S25, but not free after the bill credits), or maybe even a mint condition phone from swappa?

For those considering this, be prepared to deal with hassles during the trade-in process.

Not saying it's guaranteed, but I'm glad I took others' advice of producing photo/video evidence of the IMEI, model number, factory reset, boxing up, etc.

I had to engage their customer support and correct them on the model name of the device I had sent, after they incorrectly identified it as a noneligible model. They were about to charge me the full $300 credit for someone's incompetence.

I had a bitter experience where phone was lost and they charged me and then had to deal with them which indeed was a hassle

What the difference between certified renewed and refurbished? Amazon has refurbished s24 ultra 1tb for about $800.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0D2RWKLYV
I recently purchased an "unlocked" 512gb S22 Ultra for my son via Amazon refurbished. He couldn't get it to access T-mobile's network. After troubleshooting and going through a bunch of steps with my carrier's customer service agent, I was referred to their technical department who double-checked my "unlocked" phone and found it was still carrier locked to AT&T. I verified this using AT&T's online unlock request system and got a confirmation from AT&T that it couldn't be unlocked as it was still registered to another user in their system. I was able to return it for a refund, but significant amount of hassle and disappointed kid.
I ordered another one from Amazon from a different vendor. I bought one listed as the T-mobile version as I figured at least we'd know right away if it was also locked. What showed up was not the T-mobile version as far as I can tell (no T-mob splash screen on start-up), but it was in better condition than the first phone and was actually the 1 Tb (!) version. Perhaps they didn't have the one I ordered so they sent a slightly different 1 Tb one instead figuring I'd be happy, which I am. So my Amazon Refurbished story has happy ending, but Amazon seems like a bit of a dice roll and crossed fingers approach when compared to Samsung, especially since Sammy's have a new battery.

Samsung actually refurbishes their phones with a new battery and any OEM replacement parts needed to ensure you are getting a phone that is functionally in new condition, and has the same factory warranty as a new phone.

Ebay you get whatever a seller thinks they can get away with selling you. I just had the pleasure of returning an "eBay Refurbished" Microsoft Surface tablet that was sold as "New-Open Box." When I ran Crystal Disk Mark, the SSD had SEVENTEEN THOUSAND HOURS of use on it and like 60 terabytes of writes. It was at 60% health. It was also kinda dirty, and had a gouge where some company's property label had been scraped off it. (Also, it was illegally shipped without a warning label for the lithium battery, but I digress.) When I contacted the seller requesting a refund, he tried to offer my a 7% discount to keep it. I declined and I did get my refund. Some of these eBay sellers are just hoping to find a buyer that isn't tech savvy enough to know what they bought.

You are paying extra for a reliable quality refurbishment direct from the manufacturer. The most important thing that is included is a brand new OEM battery. Refurb from any other seller is a crapshoot. You don't know what you are getting.
