Sales Tax:
For some states, Samsung will charge sales tax on the amount before taking $300 off.
California state is one of those. Pay tax on the list price.
Return Window for the Trade-in:
"Please note that you have 15 days from the date you receive your new device to ship your old device to Samsung or your original payment method will be charged for the trade-in credit amount."

Packing Instructions:: Courtesy @_A2:
Ins to document and ship the trade-in:
1. Go to a USPS location with an automated kiosk
2. Place phone on top of kiosk, with scale in view
3. Start recording
4. Turn phone on, show serial #, do whatever you want in order to show that it's working
5. Turn it OFF. Place in box. Seal it up.
6. Affix postage. NOW... while keeping the box in view of the phone camera --> take it over and drop it in the package/parcel drum.
Note: Samsung will provide shipping label
7. Pull the handle to send the package inside --> make sure to continue recording while you RE-OPEN the drum and show it empty.
At this point, the package is literally out of your hands. You can't get it back. If anyone (buyer, Samsung, 3rd party trade-in clowns) tries to claim that your device wasn't in the condition you stated: send them a link to your video so that they can kindly go f*ck themselves.

Summary of program
Google has determined that certain Pixel 6a phones ("Impacted Devices") require a mandatory software update to reduce the risk of potential battery overheating which could pose a risk to users. The update will enable important battery management features that will reduce battery capacity and charging performance on Impacted Devices after the battery reaches 400 charge cycles.
All Pixel 6a devices will receive a mandatory automatic software update to Android 16, with roll out starting July 8 2025, but only Impacted Devices will receive the battery management features. Some users will see changes sooner than others, because the battery management features activate only after an Impacted Device reaches 400 charge cycles.
We want our customers to have the best possible experience with their products, so users of these Impacted Devices are eligible for support options from Google based upon country of purchase, location, and warranty status, subject to our terms and conditions below. Not all Pixel 6a devices are impacted by the reduction in battery capacity and charging performance. If your device is not impacted, your battery management features will remain the same as before, and you will not be eligible for these support options under this program.

This is the first phone that has ever experienced this and I see many complaining about this issue.
Edit: Tried changing to Google and then Microsoft keyboard. Same issue. Seems like a Samsung issue.

All phones are like that as far as I know - real estate needs to be managed between the too.

Example: S22 unlocked for $190..

Turns out I now appreciate how nice my amazon warehouse S23FE is.. compared to their S25+. Close enough that I was careful not to send back my phone by mistake. It wasn't really much trouble and I'll sit on my FE placeholder phone for the next big thing.
edit.. holy smokes.. as soon as I mention my S20+ it started a bright vertical pixel line today. Good thing I didn't send it in for trade. Also returning my Infomobile sim with defective data.
