The $270 bundle has a motherboard that is (1) worse and (2) mATX. It also comes with a single 16 GB stick of RAM instead of 2. Between the two I would do the 7700X bundle but I would take the 9600X over 7700X at this point independently -- I built a 7700X PC last year and a 9600X PC a few days ago.

Very manufacturer dependent. Asus ROG B650 and B650E have PCIe 5 on the M2 and x16 slots. B650-A has it on M2.

https://www.cpubenchmark.net/comp...en-7-7700X

Quick summary: 9600x is faster single core, lower TDP, less cache, and slower multi core (due to having fewer cores than 7700x). Also, 9600x also has an integrated GPU (website omits this info).

For gaming, 9600x is better. For productivity, 7700x.

I have this exact combo and it has worked great for gaming for me. I have it paired with a 4070 Ti Super and play at 1440p ultrawide at mostly max settings with no issues at all.

Good except I would go with the 7700x for productivity purposes and also get the 64gb memory. But depends on your purposes I guess.

Just for awareness, none of the B650 chipsets support PCIe 5.0. IMO if you're making the jump to AM5 spend the extra couple dollars and go with a x870 chipset motherboard.

Does anyone know how to get Slickdeals from showing these Micro Center deals? I've had my slider all the way to the left on Dislike for years yet these posts still appear for me! There isn't even a Micro Center in my state so it's annoying seeing all of these amazing deals I can never get!

Best Buy will match MC. I bought a 9600x from BB and they matched MC's price. Here's BB's price match policy: https://www.bestbuy.com/site/help...0300050002

How does this compare to the 5600x? I'm looking to maximize for 4k gaming and generally heavy multitasking, but no special programs or anything.

8+2+2, 55Amp DrMos.

Slightly weaker, but more than adequate. Not ready for the 26core CPU coming, but most people don't buy that.
