I tried it then returned it because although it has variable speed, it kicks on at too high of rpm. I have an older model Bosch impact driver and it starts at a much lower speed although less torque overall. But I have an impact wrench if needed so I kept the older model which works fine for my use.

I have this, and it's much better at being a wrench, and driver.

Anyone comment on which is better for impact driver aspect--I need to drive 5/8in x 8" lag bolts into decking structures. This Bosch or Dewalt https://www.lowes.com/pd/DEWALT-2...5014148439
Thank you.

Bosch 2500 in-lb vs DeWalt 1700 in-lb. Bosch accepts sockets unlike DeWalt where you need adapter.

For a non-working man, if the goal is to save money on tools that don't have to be the absolute best, is to go with one brand.

I have scored many slick deals on tools, and literally every tool I have is of a different brand, with its own battery and charger, and I have a pile of 490 chargers in the garage serving my 490 tools, because I was too cheap to just go with one brand like Ryobi, for everything.

Thank goodness I rarely use them, because everytime I do, it annoys the sht out of me when I find my tool discharged from non use or from forgetting to plug it in when I need it, because I can't just swap a different battery as every tool has just one battery, but in retrospect, this approach is the dumbest one ever. Should've just splurged on one of the Ryobi 100-tool combos for $500 and called it a day.
