Current generation HP Omen vs. this current gen Legion 7i Pro has indicated the Omen is more prone to thermal throttling and also has the smaller power supply. Lenovo thermals are much better according to the reviews.
Plus the Omen deal you are referencing, if I recall right, has lesser RAM and SSD. While a DIY upgrade certainly is not going to account for the significant price difference, there is still some cost of that.
Then I upgrade the purchase to i9, 5090, 64gb/1tb and OLED for about 2,750.00 and financed 24x. I'll probably pay way earlier, but it good to have flexibility.
