I like the price but that weight at nearly 6lbs is hard to swallow. I know your giving up a ton of performance, but the G16 sitting at 4.3 lbs with probably way better speakers and portability makes it feel like its a true laptop, whereas this is more classed as a desktop replacement.
Great deal (same with the 5090 version too), but not much availability in CA. However, since the sale has just started, I suspect there's a good chance of a restock at some point.
It's powerful for sure, but definitely weaker than desktop 5070ti. This is probably the top tier 5080 laptop though. I was about to get it, but when I read online at 4k, it's averaging 55% weaker than the desktop equivalent, I ended up buying a PC instead. I really do miss having a gaming laptop though

Yeah, this is a desktop replacement for sure, but, until a few years ago, proper gaming laptops always were heavy. The only two brands that have successfully made gaming laptops come in at a more laptop-like weight have been Razer and Asus ROG Zephyrus. My issue with both though is that you are wasting a lot of the GPU you are buying bc of the thermal limitations of the svelte chassis. For someone who wants portability, it's probably best to get a low-mid tier gaming laptop, maybe a Asus G14 or TUF 14 with a 4060/5060 for $1200-1500 on sale and then spend $1500-2000 getting a solid desktop setup. This would add up to $2700-3500, which is about the price one would pay for a top-of-the-line 5080 laptop.
