Huh, until this post I never realized just how far east Anaheim went, I always thought Anaheim hills was disconnected from Anaheim proper.

To increase frequency and loyalty. They aren't dropping a ton of cash on flights, hotel, transportation, etc. Getting them in the gate for cheaper will get them spending more in the park and more often.

Weird how Anaheim Hills is included where some people there live further than those in Orange and a few other cities. Anaheim hills extends all the way to the Riverside County Line pretty much out at Weir Canyon/Yorba Linda (the latter is even closer to Disney). weird.
Attendance is down huge this year, due to $200 tickets mostly this summer. I won't pay $400 just to get in for two people, when in early November I plan to go for $104 each.

If you go, Dada's "Diz Knee Land" is required listening on the way there.

I recommend going to local theme parks. Don't feed the mouse.

Disneyland is so packed these days that it's practically impossible to get on any of the good rides without fast pass or a VERY LONG wait. So folks will buy the FP to shorten the time and pay $35 for parking. So the $70 ticket is now up to $135 and people still need to eat. Add another $65 for food and drink and your looking at about $200.

Could I just change my billing address to an Anaheim address and then call in to order them?

It's probably not as much a novelty for locals; the marginal cost for entry is very low (not $100's ) so why not give a discount to get you in and buy some overpriced food and merch?

Same reason why places like Six Flags, that aren't destinations, only charge slightly more for a season pass than a single entry - it costs them next to $0 to let you in the door but they are banking on you spending money on other crap once inside.

The "old" SoCal pass was the deal. The new one....not so much. I like the fact that the right wing is hating on Disney and not going to the parks, less crowded. It also helps that the US is hated around the world now and people are vacationing elsewhere. Disneyland in the summer is for the tourists, not the locals in the SoCal zipcode areas. I only go during the winter anyways. Disney throws us a bone now and then and I like the park. It's fun to walk around, see whats new and eat the fewds.
