Wow this is a lot cheaper than bodyglove sold in costco. Is there a big difference in quality/performance or is this much of better deal? Looking into start paddling next month.

I've never seen a paddleboarder with a helmet on like in their pics. That said, looks decent for the price.

big difference in quality and performance. BG uses triple stringer construction for stiffness and at 240lbs, I get no flex. I have 2 BG boards now (gave one away) and they have been beaten, abused and still look great. Their tandem board (15') had a seam problem due to defective gluing process and they voluntarily issued a recall for a replacement or refund. Solid company. Resale is strong as their reputation is strong. I suggest you go with a 11' or 11'6" board for better tracking, glide, speed, and stability. WM has sales on them often. Here's a 11'6" board on Amazon for $88. http://www.amazon.com/Extra-Wide-...B0FHJSFBFR BG boards in the pics

The $149 delivery fee for the Amazon extra wide one kinda kills the deal

Picked up $90 paddle board a few months ago on woot, found here on SD. It's been solid. Used like 4 times already. Pump already broke though, the hose just ripped while pumping. It was 115 that day so could have something to do with it 😅
Would still recommend

If you had never done stand-up paddling, learning on a 30" wide board won't be easy. Try to get 34" or 36" wide.

I used a family members Ascent 11"6" board from Bass Pro Shops last weekend and decided I wanted one of my own. I purchased this and hope to try it out this weekend: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DT45B...title&th=1
One of the colors has a $48 coupon to make it $150.
I admittedly know very little about these things but my primary use case is for the family to float around, not long distance performance, so value was high on my priority list.

Weird how all the reviews come from the company, with almost all being promoted and none being below a 4 star. I trust those reviews about as much as gas station sushi.
