Solid deal, but wish they had the 4090 - I need that for some AI work.

No. The X16 is very well built with mostly all metal body (back I/O is thick plastic), and it's amazingly slim...one of the slimmest gaming laptops you can find. Check out a few YT reviews, there are many!
I own one w/ 4090 + FHD+ 480Hz screen

This is better than the previous AW Aurora deals if you compare the TGP performance and build quality.

Reviews say terrible screen, power optimized CPU and most importantly soldered non-upgradeable ram. Also looks kind of dated to me compared with the new models especially the Aurora 16x.

Absolutely not worth buying with the dim screen. Baffling that Dell still insists on 300 nit in its high end gaming laptops. If you still think 300 is good enough, go to Best Buy and look at the Alienware side to side with any other brand.

How is this a Deal? The 5070 TI is the same raw performance with AI plus new dlss4 to boost it even higher. Don't waste your money on overpriced 2yr old technology.

Some LLMs need cards with 16gb of memory in the GPU.

Hot as hell Intel CPU that will also drastically drain your battery kills it.

I would challenge you to identify what brand the new Aurora notebook is if you take the Alienware head logo off of it. It's a completely generic laptop completely void of any Alienware DNA. It's boring as hell. Alienware has always had a design to it that anyone can quickly say "that's an Alienware!" Not the new Aurora -- looks like a OEM laptop anyone could slap their name on.

Baffling? It's called penny-pinching and the display is one of the components Dell can save the most with by using less-than-stellar parts.
