Yes, the RAM is soldered but 16GB would suffice for majority of the people buying an ARM-based laptop.

everyone always itches about the ram not being upgradable but it seems like every low profile slim laptop are all nonupgradeable. its like a givein.

Is there slim laptops that still allow upgrading ram that people always find the need to mention how these arent--which seems like every single one.

No no way of upgrading RAM in the future? i.e. soldered with no expansion slot?

This is a great deal. Be aware Ubuntu does not run well yet no audio... Which is pretty sad.

I got the OLED version open box at Best buy for $500 a few weeks back. I think it was a display unit but it's in mint condition.

Is it worth the extra $300 to upgrade the ram to 32gb and the SSD to 1TB? Would that be a deal at $1,000?

I got a $100 back from $500 amex offer today, tempting, but I am holding out for OLED screen at this price point.. XPS should be good build quality, this is tempting..

Does WSL work pretty good on the snapdragon CPUs tho?

I find its a good compromise and retains the windows battery management.

Definitely not. That's way too overpriced for that. $1000 for such a device might be worth it if it also included the OLED display.

I'm only really using it for work. I'm not into gaming or watching media.

I'd say it's still overpriced at $1000. But if you can stack the sign-up code and AMEX offer, then the price might be justifiable.

Understand what the snapdragon processor is before ordering.

XPS -- Hate the keyboard. Hate the invisible touchpad. Hate the touch-Fn buttons. Apart from that, it's a great deal if Snapdragon is your thing.
