I am a 45 yr old man I own a motorcycle , classic car and drive a pick up daily , why is this so tempting ?? lol 😂 I want one! To answer the guy who's wife can't pass the driving test even if it was street legal ( I have no idea if it is or is not) this would be very dangerous to drive on the street. It's so low to the ground unless you want your wife to get run over I'd highly recommend something different than this.

You realize that's a dirt bike right and this is a go kart? You do understand that they are nothing at all alike right?
Its all about the fun factor.

As a fellow man-child I am also tempted by this. Would prefer if it was Hayabusa powered.

What it's all about is, what areas you have available to use them. The segway ninebot is great for people who live in quiet residential neighborhoods. How do i know? my neighbors have several (bougie i know), the kids tear around in them since cars are so infrequent, they have a blast on the pavement doing donuts, making little circle tracks to race, etc. Going on 2 full years, they are beat to **** but they keep running and the kids keep having fun. They never would do that on electric bikes (how do i know? they had a bunch of those too but they got old after like a week and they are collecting dust somewhere now)

I bought the version 1 two years ago and I still have fun with that thing. Always wished i could get another so the little one and I can race. But after reading these reviews and people having connectivity issues, i get worried! Hmmm

Owned this for about a month and returned for 2 big reasons that may or may not be a deal breaker for some.

1. Even a slight blip on the brakes will result in a harsh stop that shoves you forward. It's super senstive and really hard to control.
2. The rear tires are extremely hard which means you will feel EVERYTHING. On very flat surfaces it's fine but anything on the road like bumps, cracks, dips etc will feel pretty harsh especially because there's practically no seat cushioning. You can buy aftermarket tires on amazon but keep in mind they're mostly for drifting if that means anything to you.

I really wanted to love it but in the end I couldn't justify keeping it for the above. I've been trying to find an alternative but outside of buying a $3K+ version using a CRG frame but there's not really anything that's comparable.

It's not street legal, and I'm pretty sure my HOA would ban me if I drove it in the neighborhood, so I don't see why anyone would buy it other than as a lawn ornament.

Do people even realize that Segway was bought by a chinese company a few years back? That should explain the chineseness😂

Anyone know if they allow this on the roads? Thinking about getting it for my wife to commute to work, she can't pass the driving test after multiple attempts so hopefully this will help, thanks in advance
She'll be fine. If you're in NJ be sure to advise her to take the truck lane on the Turnpike so it'll be faster for her.

I'm not finding the prior SD posts on these things... I bought the Ninebot Mini 320 for $350 in 2018, which I'm sure was an SD front page item. I seem to recall the go-kart going for something like $900 back then, though this one might be substantially more powerful. My BIL bought one and it's quite fun. He's never tried the standup option all these years, which seems crazy to me considering I used it all the time when camping, or any other activity requiring moving a bunch of stuff from one place to another. Heck, I was folding laundry on the Segway and putting it away back when I was in an apartment.

The silly thing is the full power is unlocked in go-kart mode, but it's substantially reduced in Segway mode. I ended up paying a Russian hacker to unlock more power potential in my Segway as it wouldn't go up a hill I regularly travel prior to the hack.

Costco had the bumble bee version before for $1299.99. I think that is the sweet spot for this item.
