Definitely needed this for all the rain we've been getting here in FL. Hopefully it's more effective than the Clorox brand

The Clorox brand doesn't seem to do anything for my pool. I was about to try liquid, but maybe I will give this a shot.

You can mix this with pool shock? Is it safe?

Just so you know, CYA doesn't expire, so don't sweat it if you can't use it all this season or next.

CYA stays in your water, there's no loss of "effectiveness", as you get rainwater you'll need to add more throughout the year (if you have a large enough pool where stabilized pucks don't cut it). Low CYA = quicker chlorine burnoff.

i meant sitting in my garage, I presume it loses some amount of effectiveness. I drain annually and this year I had to add more robelle than years past.

chlorine stabilizer (cyanuric acid or CYA) does not expire in the way that many other pool chemicals do. It maintains its potency indefinitely, as long as it's stored in a tightly closed container, even if it absorbs moisture,

What are you expecting the Clorox brand to do? How do you know it doesn't do anything for your pool? What test are you running? I recommend anyone with a pool to go to troublefreepool.com. It will save you money and headaches. Please be aware that too much CYA can lead to a lot of problems and the only way to remove it is by draining pool water. Don't trust your local pool store results. Get your own test kits.

I am a member at trouble free pool and have my own test kit. Added Clorox brand and my CYA hardly increased at all. I aim for 70 with my salt pool.

I need about 4 pounds now to increase my CYA to a target level of 60-70, so this seems like overkill to get 16 lbs. But at almost 50% off, this price is too good to pass up.

This is a great deal!! Beats paying $20 for 4 lbs of chlorox brand. Great for my salt pool and rainy Texas weather.

I used to use a separate chlorine stabilizer product, but for years now I just get all the CYA I need from trichlor tabs. Cheaper that way. I get my pool started early (never covered) and have no trouble getting up to the target level by the time the sun is strong.
