Just an FYI it does state on amazon that if powered by one usb-c from a laptop, the brightness drops to half.

From amazon listing

"The portable monitor can be powered via USB-C or mini-HDMI connection to a laptop or other device, eliminating the need for a separate power cable."

Does it take power only from the DC-in or can it be powered off the USB-C port as well?

I bought the BIGASO last week which appears to be this same as a white label and can confirm it powers over usb-c only. If you use Hdmi mini you need to supply power to the other usb-c slot. Otherwise not required

I initially saw $89 also, I clicked on the 2 pack and then back to the 1 unit and the $49 price displayed.

When these guys will learn to not to put their ugly logos on the frame, I am using an aoker p4 monitor and it doesn't have anything printed on the frame. Its around $57 but out of stock now. So I am not able to post a link.

Interesting catch, I didn't realize that.
But, Is it common for these kinds of portable monitor products to all behave this way?
Thanks!

Edit: I ended up buying this one instead for $54.99 as I needed a much smaller size.
Moonka 10.5-inch, 1280Px1080, IPS, 1500:1 contrast, 420 cd/m brightness.

I have this monitor in a different "brand" name. Good monitor for a laptop to act as an extra screen to glance over every once in a while. Few minor issues. Screen is ok, not much to be impressed by. Every once in a while it will glitch when disconnected and run a green error screen, powering it off and on clears it up. Mounting bracket on the back is held by glue on the inside. You need to be very careful how you position and turn the monitor if your arms are stiff.

These tablet screens are a much better PPI and can get full brightness over USB-C. Dialing in the resolution for desktop apps can be tricky, though.

I have several of these I used for miniature arcade cabinet builds. They've been surprisingly reliable. I use a 3A 5V USB adapter for power and it works great. Paired with Raspberry Pi the entire setup draws hardly any power.

Would you mind sharing the link? Looking for something just like that for a family member going to college this fall. Thank you!
