These are great but they are small. It's perfect for me who cooks smaller meals and also uses offset cooking more than direct (so I use fewer coals). If you do direct cooking for a large group then you will want the large size. The larger size can always be filled with fewer coals so it's more versatile than this one too. Or you can do what I'm doing and buying a second small one and use both when I need more coals for direct cooking.

I used this yesterday. Shocked how easy chimneys are. I hadn't cooked on characoal for a few years and decided to give it a shot again. Lighter fluid and match light is stupid to buy. Stuff some newspaper under the chimney, put your coals in, 15-20 min later, coals are ready to go. Make sure you put your chimney on your grill before lighting the newspaper.
This would be perfect for that person who uses too much lighter fluid when they start a fire for barbecuing where all their food taste like lighter fluid.

I have the larger one. When I want to do less coal for minion method, I just flip it upside down, put a wax cube in and put a few coals over it.

Lighter fluid burns off long before you ever put the food over the coals.
Just get a stainless utensil holder for 5 bucks at walmart. Way more holes to ignite the charcoal and it's 5 bucks everyday. I just get some wire and make a handle but if you dump it, makes no diff.
I just get a paper napkin that i use to oil the grates and throw that at the bottom and line the rest with charcoal. You can stick a long-neck lighter through the hole and light the saturated napkin. Oil burns long and slow so the charcoal ignites more reliably.

You can also use 90% rubbing alcohol from stores and cotton balls. I put cotton balls in a sealed small container, fill up with 90% alc to the top, and use 1 or 2 cotton balls to get the chimney started. The pros is that it doesn't have that chemical smell of lighter fluid, because alcohol fully evaporates even without burning.
