Doesn't that just mean the receptacle is rated 50A but the generator can only produce 30.2A max?

correct, 240v x 50amps = 12,000 watts. This gen is 7250 running watts. 7250 / 240 = 30.2083333333 amps. swimwear tho

not an electrician but I'm assuming a few second surge is fine, similar to welding wire being undersized because of the duty cycle. cheers
