I'm looking for a chair that would be okay for someone who has pylonidal cyst problem. Would this work?
Okay you need to purchase a coccyx pad (triangle at the bottom of a square). Do not get a donut pad, those are for hemorrhoids .

I bought this for around this price a few years back. This is an ok deal alone but a great deal if you get the warranty. They will replace it if it breaks which could happen. Mine is going good after 3 years. I have 4 more left on the warranty.

Literally sitting on a Dexley right now. Also owned an HM Aeron in the past. This gives about 85% of the same experience for 15% of the cost.

Get a separate bottom cushion that alleviate stress on the tailbone. Many varieties on Amazon. That will help immensely. Also, it eliminates the chair as a variable.

Bought a similar Staples mesh chair for around $129 4 years ago. Mostly everything held up well EXCEPT for the bottom cushion/sponge which sits under the mesh at the front edge. One piece of the sponge broke away after chafing against an edge of the plastic. Made it uncomfortable on one end under the left thigh so I eventually gave the chair away.

I bought this the last time it was on sale, the back ergonomics are great, especially for a short person. But the seat definitely needs a cushion. Looking for one that fits the whole seat and won't need to be adjusted every time you sit down. Anyone have this with a specific great cushion to recommend?

I've had this for 5 years. Like the other comment, my star base cracked. Staples sent a replacement part with fast shipping without any fuss. 7 year warranty. Don't expect this to last you a lifetime but it's a decent option to hold you over until the right SlickDeal on a premium chair.
Do we need to take the 5 years additional warranty?

This chair dips deeply in the back of the seat. I think it would be fine but the texture of the mesh I find irritating and regret buying this chair back in November.

That is kind of scammy the way they try to sell you a 5 year warranty when the chair already comes with a 5 year warranty.

I bought one before. This is shit. Arm broke off and left a sharp plastic edge that I had to saw off. The screen also became undone from its tucking. Id advise if you want a chair that will last more than 5 years this is not it.

Got the one I'm currently sitting in from a deal post about a year ago, ~$100 with extra discount at the time.

After an initial minor problem with the back lock, I've been very happy with it. (6'1" 200 lb...well ok, 210 but back to 200 by Thanksgiving for sure.)

Frankly, you're best off asking AI these questions. I had never heard of this problem as I suspect it's not as commonly aware medical condition compared to others out there (i.e. 'back problems'). Here's the AI response:

While the Staples Dexley is a popular ergonomic chair with a mesh seat, it is unlikely to be ideal for someone with a pilonidal cyst problem due to the lack of a specific coccyx cutout. The potential for mesh sagging could also be an issue. For true relief, chairs specifically designed for tailbone pain with a cutout are much more recommended, or at the very least, using a dedicated coccyx cushion with a suitable chair.
Bro, please don't. AI didn't tell us anything of value.
