Usually these rewards certificates are good for 30 days after they are issued.

Nice! Just fyi, if you use the card for something that gets extra points - such as buying a gift card at a grocery store - you still get those bonus points in addition to the reward certificate.

so you use this best buy card at any grocery store and if its a gift card purchased there t counts towards the $250 amount you need and you get the 2% percent reward.

Yep. I've done that twice now and it's coded as a grocery purchase. I want to try it with a gift card at a gas station next and see if it's coded as a gen merchandise or if it's a fuel purchase. On my other Citi card, Custom Cash, they code in-store gas station purchases as Fuel - so I'm somewhat hopeful that this card would be the same and you'd get 3% back plus counting towards the spend requirements outside of Best Buy.

I'm assuming the thumbs down on this incredible offer are people who didn't get a good rewards amount offer and are a lil salty.

12.5% still isn't bad. Plus, like I've mentioned, if you spend in a bonus category you'll still net those additional points. I'm sure you can find some ways to spend $400 before August 31st.

2% back on a super-limited selection of electronics at Costco and a requirement to remain a paid Costco member or else have your card cancelled is somehow better than 5% back on everything at Best Buy and %-back on bonus categories outside Best Buy, plus these fantastic additional offers and no annual fee nor membership requirement?
