Hi All.

Was trying to help find an IPad deal for a friend and came across this. Seems like a fair price for 256Gb of storage. Just wanted to share. Thanks!

Isn't that the base storage on all current iPads?

I believe 128gb is base level... it used to be 64gb...

As someone said this is A14. Essentially an iPhone 12. So the latest IOS 26 that's coming out later this year supports the iPhone 11. So it seems like maybe Apple will support this till IOS 27 or 28 at the latest.

I would keep an eye out for an M series iPad Air . Those are significantly more powerful than the A series and will receive updates for a long time.

The iPad (A16) is significantly faster than the iPad (A14) in both CPU and GPU performance:
  • Single-core performance: The A16 is about 16% faster than the A14.
  • Multi-core performance: The A16 is about 21–22% faster than the A14 in CPU benchmarks.
  • Overall performance: The A16 supports 50% higher memory bandwidth, a 12% higher clock speed (3460 MHz vs. 3100 MHz), and a more advanced GPU architecture with more pipelines and shading units, resulting in substantially faster graphics and better multitasking.
  • Real-world use: The A16 model, with 6GB RAM (compared to 4GB on the A14 iPad), handles multitasking and demanding apps more smoothly, which is especially noticeable for gaming, video editing, or running multiple apps at once.
  • Battery and efficiency: The A16, built on a smaller 4nm process, is also more power efficient than the A14 (5nm)

This is also a great alternative for the price range. It's just the iPad Air has laminated screen panel and the regular iPad has a little bit of a gap. But I personally feel the average person won't notice that unless you're a technical iPad techy perfectionist person lol. Which I sorta am but I personally like the iPad minis but that's just me. 🤷

If you don't need 256GB of storage and can get by with 128GB the iPad 11 is regularly on sale for $280 at various retailers.
I believe Staples currently has it for this price.
