I think this is a good price if you need something for the house, this one https://slickdeals.net/f/18445690-prime-19-99-5-ft-anker-power-strip-w-8x-ac-outlets-2x-usb-a-ports-1x-usb-c-port-at-amazon would be better suited for something more portable/travel. (Deal expired again but keeps coming back.)

I bought this one about a month ago when the same deal was on SD. Fits great in my under desk basket and works great too. Lots of orientations for different types of power adapters.

Why would you guys buy something is not ul listed or other certifications? Anker can claim whatever they want but if their products are so great, why are they not getting the certification?

Got this for 15 at walmart awhile back. The thread on it mentioned it had bad clamping force, idk what that means but I just hook up basic stuff like phone chargers and lamps to it, I dont hook up computers or home theater stuff to it and it works fine.

The joule rating is basically the amount of energy it can absorb, and the clamping voltage is when that protection kicks in.

Anker unfortunately doesn't seem to clearly list the clamping voltage.

Their own blog post here: https://www.anker.com/blogs/hubs-...ower-strip

States clamping voltage should ideally 400 volts or less, but then people seem to think their power strips have anywhere between 400 and 1200 volts as the clamping voltage. And 1200 would mean a lot of things you might plug into a power strip would be damaged before the protection kicked in.

I do think, when products are at this low of a price point, it's understandable if they don't have "top tier" protection. If you're plugging very valuable stuff into a surge protector and you want to be extra sure it's protected, you should probably invest in something that both costs more and clearly lists the joule rating/clamping voltage ranges. 😅

If true that's good

What is TÜV?
TÜV, short for Technischer Überwachungsverein (German for Technical Inspection Association), represents a group of independent organizations that test, inspect, and certify various products, services, and systems. Their primary goal is to ensure the safety of technologies and prevent potential hazards.

Because with the money you save buying this cheapo, you can use that towards a replacement xbox one x and ps5 and switch 2 (which I'm guessing they plugged into this too).
