Edit: I said there were some Amazon reviews mentioning it worked for their Mac mini. But elefante72 says it won't work. I believe him over couple random Amazon reviews, so editing my post to reflect that.

In the mac mini the controller is in the socket (the module has specific circuitry and the SSD chips), whereas in something like this the storage controller exists on the chip + SSD memory because then it just talks PCIe using SATA spec. So not sure where you read this, but it is 200% wrong. Now this is m4 series mac mini, earlier m-series the SSD are soldiered on so this isn't even in scope.
