4k 27" seems overkill over a normal 1440p at 27" ? You cant use 4k native on a 27" screen, so scaling it how much better does it truly work and now you need a beefier GPU to push 4k level of pixels. I guess for professional photography type work?

you make a good point. I have a very nice Ben-Q 27" monitor for my photography work and it's 2.7K and an amazing monitor. They had a 4K version, but didn't want to deal with the smaller icons on the 4K version.

4K is hard to drive? This isn't a "gaming" monitor, delivering 4K/60 is a piece of cake. 4K+scaling looks WAY better than native 1440p.

2k is 2560 x 1440 = 3,686,400 pixels
4k scaled to 125% is 3072 x 1728 = 5,308,416 pixels.

So 20% more pixels in each direction, and 44% more total pixels.

I bought this on the last deal at $235 as a work monitor. The display itself works well (connected to both PC and Mac), but the USB-C power delivery struggles with my macbook pro when running CPU-intensive tasks like video-conferencing, and will disconnect randomly unless I charge the macbook pro with another source. At this price point I'll keep it and deal with that.

yup.. think they were confusing it as a gaming monitor which it's not. however Samsung has a 4k IPS 27" Odyssey in sale which is a Great buy too - id probably go for that if indidnt already have this one..
