Made by Chervon (EGO, Flex tools) I believe. I'll give it a shot. I have a bunch of other (cheap to very good) grinders and try to keep a different wheel on each one.

If I didn't find a Metabo at a thrift store a couple years ago, I'd get this. Thing got me out of 2 jams over the last year. Still thinking about one of these since mine has no guard or handle.

How does this compare with a Harbor Freight one?

Mine showed up today. It's heavier than I expected. That's all I can say so far. It definitely feels like it's put together better than what you get from HF for $20 any more. Every grinder spins smooth and the bearings sound great when they're new. The test is how it sounds after 10 hours of use.

Ive slowly been building my arsenal of tools over the past couple of years, each one coming in clutch several times since purchasing. What kind of tasks would warrant a grinder?

At this price point, I purchased three. As an amateur welder 1) cutting disc 2) grinding disc 3) wire wheel. No need to swap between them with 3 angle grinders, a bit of a time saver.

FYI the manual says the guard is not designed for cutting (no cut-off discs). I wanted an angle grinder because sometimes I need to cut up things that won't fit in the trash. I'm going to pass on this.

i am assuming they put that in there for liability reasons.

I got one. I been waiting for a cheap unit with a paddle switch. More control with a paddle switch.

I had a grinding wheel explode on me that sent me to the ER. The lock switch made it keep spinning full speed and gave me further damage. Maybe i'm just biased.
