Toner, but yes.. I've had a 3rd party toner cartridge in my old Brother HL-2270DW for like 7+ years now and it's still going strong.
Unlikely I'll ever own an inkjet printer again.. I don't miss inkjet cartridges drying out after 3-6 months of sitting idle.

Amen on the inkjets. Getting rid of them likely added years to my life, and i do a lot less swearing without them. They lure you in with low prices then eat you alive with consumable costs and downtime. Never again.

How's it compare to the HL-L2460DW printer? That's the one I've watching for a while. Looks like slightly slower printing but more features like scanning and copying. Strangely this one has a lower MSRP before discounts.
