I bought one of these a few months ago and love it. Makes pretty good coldbrew in about 25 minutes. Filters all the grounds and everything out every time, and its relatively easy to clean. My only complaint is wishing it was just a little bit bigger

Tried using a similar machine, but none of these quick style "cold brew" compare traditional long steeped cold brew. It's a tea-like coffee that was way weaker than traditional cold brew.

If you like cold brew, just stick to a simple method of adding 1:8-1:3 coffee grounds to water ratio into a mason jar and letting it steep for 18-32 hours, then strain afterwards.

  • Can it make a margarita: Honestly, what would happen if you put margarita ingredients into one of these?

I drink hot coffee throughout the year, but my wife likes cold-brew. I'm cautiously optimistic this will work for her. I'll report back if not!

Seems like a great way to get 2 french presses for $12. I'll experiment with these using hot water and seeing what they put out after spinning around in boiling water. Bonus: seems like you could use this as a general magnetic stirrer as well

I'm a fan of the takeya cold brew pitcher. Makes enough for a 4-5 days. Comes out pretty strong

I was going to say, there is no such thing as a fast cold brew. The long steep time is what makes cold brew good and less acidic

Exactly - time is required to make good cold brew. Even with those super slow drip cold brew aren't as good as just coffee grounds in water over an extended period of time.

The only trick I've seen that people use, is to do a quick "bloom" using boiling water for 30-45 seconds, then adding cold water to stop the high temperature extraction. That quick blooming allows for the coffee to express some of the more unique characteristics of the coffee, especially when using lighter roasts for cold brew, while still retaining lower acidity overall compared to traditional coffee brew methods.

This was an instant buy when I saw it pop up on Meh last night. I have so many coffee gadgets already but at this price, there's no way I can pass up adding to the collection. I plan to use one of these myself and depending on how I like it, the second one will either be a nice gift to someone I like or a shitty gift to someone I don't.

That's why it's a 2 pack?

🤔 Have you ever taken any chemistry class? If you haven't, maybe you still know that sugar or salt would dissolve faster in water if you stir it?Or you think that's completely irrelevant?

Couldn't you just leave it overnight for a true cold brew?
