How does HDMI 2.0, wifi 6, and having a USB 2.0 negate the screen refresh rate? What kind of upgrades would you need? Do you really need wifi 6 on a $350 web surfing laptop? Some people appreciate having a USB 2.0 connection for mice and keyboards that sometimes have an issue with USB 3. You can still get 4k @ 60hz over USBC presumably. It's not a workstation replacement, sure, but I'd at $350, the value is clearly there for that use case.

This is a super solid deal. You can pick up another 16gb stick and have 32gb of dual channel memory with a 6 core CPU and a 120hz screen for under $400. Those specs were unheard of at that price point even 2 years ago.

Zen 3, but not a bad deal at all. This is a fantastic deal if the laptop won't break in half or something

All true facts and another important thing to mention is that even the small 3-Cell Battery, 41 Wh battery will perform quite well, due to Ryzen CPU efficiency; I will note that for me this still isn't a deal, simply due to the low screen quality and poor build-quality on Inspiron line of laptops...

That's also fair. This isn't for a tech person that's taking this on the go. But it's a great option for an elderly relative that needs something to browse the web, write docs, and emails. The upgradeability ensures that it'll be able to perform those tasks pretty much indefinitely.

No HDMI 2.0. No Wifi 6. A USB 2.0. Only a single Type C port.
All of this negates the CPU and the high refresh screen advantage.
To be sure, this could be a decent machine, but then you would need a ton of upgrades.

I'm (probably) gonna need to upgrade my current laptop. All I do is surf the web, social media, and watch stuff on YouTube. Is that OK for those needs or whatever? Or should I wait for Black Friday/Cyber Monday/etc later this year? I just know my current laptop is gonna be 5 yrs old in Oct/Nov so yeah haha Thank ya...

it really depends on what laptop you have currently. if you're not careful you can actually buy a new laptop that is slower... although probably more power efficient. best to just check the model of your laptop and compare it first using a.i. to make sure. This unit is pretty good but, the screen is pretty dim so if you're using it outdoors/bright rooms then you might want to consider getting one that's at least 400 nits.

I was going to respond similarly. The only thing that I'd nitpick about is the non-touch screen. I know that if I buy it, I'll try to scroll using my fingers on the screen out of habit.
