$3 knife for $10. No deal at all and the inflated retail should be illegal and verges on pure fraud.

Bro, you can't get a happy meal for 10 bucks anymore. This seems pretty solid...

If you're spending $10 on a folding knife, get the Ozark Trail with D2 steel.

THIS.

I waited until they made Vers. 2, it's got some neat improvements.

Do you not notice how absolutely crazy and illogical that sounds. Why not get value for dollar spent? The dollars are more valuable than the knife. I can use an extra car but buying a crappy one does nothing but waste my money. Why not get good value for dollar spent is the question you should be asking yourself.

Yet you get some real value form the Happy Meal that you do not get with the knife. I buy and sell knives It is not solid at all. I kind of look at intrinsic value. My $3 estimate is a real value and may be high. Try to sell this knife and you may find the real value is $0.

I suspect production may be well under a $1 in China. Yet my estimate has nothing to do with what went into it. Other sub dollar produced knives can be a good value. Little can go into something and it can be worth a lot or much can go into something and it be worth a little.Things end up with some real intrinsic value.

This has the double whammy of little going into it and it be worth little or nothing. The market determines the price and you see these kind of knives for about $3 at flea markets and you can hardly give them away.

That does not mean that you may not be able to find a buyer that is unaware of real value and will pay more but we shouldn't be finding them at SD. That is more how the marketers and retailers make their money and has little to do with real value.
