The only difference between this and the identical product from Harbor Freight is that the HF has been touched by you BEFORE you purchase instead of after, and if it breaks you have a bit more recourse a bit closer to where you broke it.
That is of course referring to the cheaper HF brands. Their newer/more expensive ICON line is pretty solid.
TL;DR - if someone says this product is amazing and another person says it broke the first time, they are likely to both be telling the truth. Without QC, it's all luck of the draw.

edit: If you need a reversing head. There are these Proto torque wrenches. Made in the USA owned by MAC tools and by default Stanley Tools. $215

I have one of these but the MAC version as a backup to my normal set.
