I've only read two of them so far but it was really good. I'm a huge fan of Witcher 3 and the add-ons and I can definitely see how the books shaped things. Looking forward to finishing them when I have a chance.

I've read all these books and they're generally pretty good. It's been a couple years so I can't remember exactly which book it was, but somewhere toward the middle/end , probably the 3rd or 4th book, was a real low point in the series.

It's also worth noting there are actually 2 books that are before these but have a very different writing style and way of telling the story. They're more like a series of semi-unrelated short stories about Geralt to kinda world build and set the tone. I think the author found success with those books and people wanted more, so he wrote a more traditional series of normal story driven/narrative books, and that's this series. I would recommend reading all of them.

I've read all of the books and really enjoyed them. Decent stories with great dialogue. I just really wish that Netflix logo wasn't plastered on all of the covers - at least do your advertising somewhere more discreet.

Man, I've been waiting for so long for the ebook versions of these books to go on sale. I love physical, but ebooks are just so much more convenient for me.

To each his own but someone in reddit posted a link to all these ebooks via Google drive. They also include a table on what order is best to read and why.

Awful, awful books. I played Witcher 3 and thought it was pretty fun, so I looked into the books. They could... use a rewrite, let's say.

Apparently this doesn't start with the first book in the series..and missing the 8th book despite the naming

The Last Wish
Sword of Destiny
Blood of Elves
The Time of Contempt
Baptism of Fire
The Tower of Swallows
Lady of the Lake
Season of Storms

Looks like the first 2 is in its own collection:

The 8th one is a standalone:

Not commenting one way or another on my opinion of the books, but I think it is worth noting they are not written in native English--and are translated from Polish

I read all of these, plus both short story collections that are usually recommended to be read before the first on this collection (Blood of Elves). The short stories are good and worth a read. The novels (this collection) are borderline bad, IMO.
You'll find that almost every English speaking person who loves The Witcher is a video game fan first. And really only a Witcher 3 fan. The first game in the series has aged like sun ripened mayonnaise.
This series blew up on "BookTube" and almost no one remembers it now going on a decade later. I suspect that much of the issue is in translation. Upon finishing, I looked into the translators and my enjoyment ended basically where the translators changed which, if I recall, was after the short stories and 1-2 books into this collection. It became nearly unreadable to me after that.
The series after the short stories basically shoves Geralt out of the story nearly completely and he plays, at best, a very limited background character for almost all of the novel series (this collection).
Just one guy's opinion... I wish other's had been more vocal about it before I'd wasted my time.

As another poster mentioned, this set only includes the 5 backbone novels of the series.
NOT included are the two short story collections, nor the two prequel novels (the second scheduled for English-translation September release).

Personally, I preferred the two short story collections that are the basis of the TV-series first 9 episodes, and are not part of this sale. As to the main novels, I binged them all a while back. Interesting enough for me to complete, but not by much. And frankly, a very dark view of humanity. Some similarities to A Song of Ice and Fire, though nowhere near as expansive. I understand you may get more out of it if you are an expert/fan of various Anglo/Europe mythologies (I won't go into which to avoid spoilers), though it is very much an original work.

Bottom line: If you are unsure, I'd say save your money and instead make a trip to your library instead. Start with "The Last Wish" and "Sword of Destiny" collections in that order.

The show is an abomination after the first season.

Books themselves are fine, I enjoyed them, but as others have mentioned I think the short stories were the strong point. If you liked the first few seasons of the witcher/witcher 3, odds are that you'll enjoy the series imo.

Yes, and it's possible that the translator did an awful job. However, I have read many a translated novel, and for whatever reason, these are awful. I enjoy quality and even trash fantasy and have read books by many authors. There are just better books out there, methinks.
