Serious question: That's the point? It's not like you're overclocking the Switch and need more than stock cooling while handheld. Seems like this would just be a battery drain

I have this fan. Bought it full price too. Contacted Amazon and they will sadly not price match it, so I'll be returning mine and re-buying this one.
This is charged independently, meaning it doesn't drain the Switch 2 battery. It lasts for 4 hours on medium, 6 on low. But really it only helps on medium or high.
As for cooling, I don't know about you all, but mine overheats all the damn time. I actually contacted Nintendo and am waiting on a response. As is, it has shut down multiple times while playing MKW in handheld mode for prolonged periods of time. Especially on the overly hot public transportation and on planes. I have to travel a lot for work, so your mileage may vary.

Lol. Not sure how extreme Sarasota is, but I can't use my Switch docked without having a desk fan blowing at the unit. Not unless I crank up the AC, which costs a fortune.
Can't really use it outside for more than a few hours without this fan either.
If you are in a hot or humid climate, you need some sort of cooling solution.
My cousin literally returned his S2 because playing it during his commute was impossible, and that was the reason he bought it. The original Switch worked much better and never once shut off on us. My cousin is still using his Switch 1 for the commute.
Shame Nintendo couldn't figure out proper cooling for places where 90+ is basically the norm in the hot summer months.

Hmm. I checked a few reddit posts and this seems to be a common issue. That was the reason my cousin returned his.
Anyone else have their Switch 2 throw up an overheat message after prolonged play? I wonder if I need to exchange mine while I still can.
